And the only things in place to do are
Take off your coat and place in a locker which no doubt are being used 24/7 by those visiting critically ill friends and family
Wash you hands ,which you’d do before this virus erupted anyway
Even when pressing the intercom to go in, click and it opens with no questions asked

I thought you'd already been?
HDU must be happy with what they have in place so I’d go along with it, and of course it may change so just do as they ask.

I have been and will continue to but I’m still very concerned

Err that’s if I’m not confined to barracks :0(
There's only so much you can do Bobbs, the hand wash is top of the list. If the hospital are concerned about anything, I'm sure they will let you know, someone in critical care needs a visitor to keep them positive, so will do more good I would think than harm. Just keep your distance as advised.
I’m surprised HDU are allowing ( non family) visitors.

I agree TC , there’s no kissing the forehead etc of the patient but it would be terrible for him or anyone in there ,not to be visited, his wife is 78 btw
@11.29 I think the government will only be (advising) over 70s to stay home, then the ball is in you court, if you have no underlying health problems and you try to keep away from large crowds as much as possible. I will still go out, I would go nuts if I didn't go for my river walks, but will avoid busy shops as best as possible by shopping early on a Monday morning.

I am in good health and I go with my pals to a pub on a Tuesday night which is generally quiet anyway , the friend who’s in hospital, his wife also is in good health at 78
If you're continuing to go then I don't really understand the 'how' in your OP.
If you think about it, the biggest challenge is to remember not under any circumstances touch your face, and its harder than you think, so when in the pub just keep that in mind!!! They say we can touch our faces up to 15 times (PER HOUR) without realising it. Hands nose cheese on toast, that's how I'm remembering it, don't ask me why??
Question Author
I’m concerned that ‘any’ hospital hasn’t stepped up to the mark!
Really!! It was a general question so no need to nit pick it
Question Author
I tend to lie on my hand when I’m asleep TC ,a hard habit to break I’d imagine
^^ not a problem if you give them a good soaping before bed, and with a clean house, and I'm sure you have, there's no problem there at all . :0)))))
So if you're concerned, why are you still going to the hospital? You're admitting it's a high risk for them and you. I think you meant 'why we can visit'.

Sighhhh, if you say so ^^^
