My 17yr old grand daughter is struggling with tampons I feel silly asking this question but when she puts one in she can’t get it out and calls me to pull it out she lives with me.
Is there something she is doing wrong. Sorry I’m late 50;s and been years since I’ve dealt with this myself.
Firstly what a lucky young lady she is to have someone as supportive as you. Is she using the ones with a string? if not maybe change from Lillets to Tampax as I think those still have strings attached to make it easier to get them out.
Is she using the right size. Does not need super at her age. She should be able to pull them out with the string. Does she have toilet paper to catch the tampon.
She may not be pushing it in far enough. Any left at the entrance to her vagina will still absorb fluid and stick to mucous membrane. Does she find them comfortable?
I doubt she’s leaving them in long enough, as when they’re full, they are easy to pull out. If she’s leaving them for 4 - 5 hours plus and they are still not full, then I don’t think she she should use tampons. She’d be better off with panty liners as she’s not losing enough blood, or whatever you call it.
Tigger blue 10 I think she wanted to go swimming with friends as to why she chose to put one in. She said something about them having to stay in for 6 hours.
^ I agree and also would be interested to know the answer to my first question. Furthermore when you helped her had thy absorbed blood? Removing a tampon when it's still dry is very uncomfortable, even painful and requires a fair amount of strength.
I can clearly remember (a long, long time ago) when I used a tampon for the very first time that I really struggled to pull it out, it seemed as if I was going to pull my insides out and I had to grit my teeth and just tug. When you're young and not too confident about just how tough us ladies are it can be quite scarey.
