Why Do They Say That To Me?

I've had this happen to me many times in my life—I put in a lot of effort, again and again. But every time, people tell me that I'm doing nothing. I'm sick of it.

Let's take S. S's parents gave her a car, S's parents bought her a house. There's nothing wrong with getting help, but… S sits at work and watches TV shows. Yeah. And yet, I'm the one who supposedly does nothing. She's considered successful, successful, because everything was handed to her on a silver platter.

I'm losing my motivation. I no longer see the point in doing anything. Why should I, if my efforts will just be devalued again? It's been like this my whole life. I'm tired of hearing it.

You sound very unhappy and possibly in need of help.  Is there anyone you can talk to in confidence ?  Could you consider counselling ?

'S' is lucky (or otherwise) that they have rich, indulgent parents.  You are lucky (or otherwise) that you don't.

You seem down with life. Are you an adolescent by any chance ?

Such is life.

You can either let it beat you or move on and work hard and purchase what you want, knowing that you bought them with your own hard earned money.
