Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I, and you are you. Whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone, wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was, let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well."

I'm so sorry for your loss. Hugs to you and your sisters
I think this poem is beautiful.

Remember
REMEMBER me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
I hope this helps.

I am so sorry to hear about your mum, I lost mine too when she was 58. I think it is a wonderful thing to read a poem. I read Death is Nothing at my Mums and it is like telling everyone that although you can't see her she is still about and you should still talk about her as you normally would. Good luck and your mum would be sooooo proud of you all.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mum, nothing we say can make it better but I hope it helps to know we care. I like the poem suggested by bonbon and lindaloo but here is another one for you to consider:
Her Journey's Just Begun
Don't think of her as gone away,
Her journey's just begun.
Life holds so many facets,
This earth is only one.
Just think of her as resting
from the sorrows and the tears,
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years.
Think how she must be wishing
That we could know today,
How nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away.
And think of her as living
In the hearts of those she touched,
For nothing loved is ever lost
And she was loved so much.

Hi dorindarasbe, so very sorry for your loss, I lost my Dad at the age of 60 when i was 16. Times like this are very, very difficult, i send my blessings to you. I was going to post the same poem as in a pickle when i read your question. I think it is absolutely beautiful.
God bless you and your family.XX

so sorry to hear of your loss, here is a poem I think just sums up so much.
The Broken Chain
We little knew that morning that
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
you did not go alone;
for part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
your love is still our guide,
and though we cannot see you,
you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

Sometimes it is nice to remember the good and wonderful things about mum and they don't have to rhyme. Mention all the good times you had, the wonderful things she did for you, holidays, going to school, the sad times and maybe some of the not so good things, they are all memories that you may want to share with people on the day but after the funeral when everyone is getting on with their lives, remember to talk to her as she will always be around you, whatever you do - they don't go too far away!
I often talk to my mum, it would have been her birthday yesterday so I made a little alter in the bedroom, with some flowers, my fav picture of her and some pretty candles, and started chatting to her. Sometimes they let you know that they are around which is nice. I hope you find the right words on the day, and I am sure you will and am sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss:-
you can shed tears that she is gone or you can smile because she has lived
you can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back or you can open your eyes and she all she has left
your heart can be empty because you can't see her or you can be full of the love you shared
you can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
you can remember her and only thats shes gone or you can cherish her memory and let it live on
you can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back or you can do what she'd want;smile, open you eyes, love and go on

dorindarasbe, my heart is with you and your family in this sad time. The poems I would have suggested have already been suggested by others, so I am afraid I have none to offer you. Just one small little piece of advice. My son died just three days before his 21st birthday of cancer. Just before he died we promised to stay in each others hearts forever. I had to promise never to loose my smile, never to stop laughing with him and never to stop talking to him. 16 years on and I still say good night to him every night, still laugh with him every day and still feel he is very much a part of my life. I have a wonderful partner who understands the sudden tears in my eyes when I see someone on the street or in a shop who reminds me of my darling son, or when I just suddenly miss him desperately while doing something completely mundane at home. But we then talk about my son and the happy and funny things he and I used to do together and my heart smiles again. My darling boy is still very much with us in our lives today. Your Mum will want you to keep your smile and to laugh with her when you think of the many lovely times you shared during her life. Keep her with you in your conversations, smile when you mention her name and the loss will be a little more bearable for you all. I wish you all strength and peace and many, many happy memories to keep you together. xxx
