Recently my mother died and my younger brother inherited our family farm. We have both lived there for many years with our wives. He has now served an eviction notice on us where do we stand on this ?

However, it seems a pretty uncharitable thing to do to a family member so soon after a bereavement. You can always consult a solicitor if you feel your mother's Will was made under undue influence but challenging this in court would be a very long and expensive business with no guarantee of success. I suggest you visit your local Council's Housing Department with a copy of the eviction order to see whether they can rehouse you.
we have always paid half towards the bills, i actually helped my father and younger brother build the house. ten years ago i converted the garage into a one bedroom flat, which is self sufficient ( under the agreement with my late mother) that my wife and i could live there rent free untill the day we died. but last year (without my knowledge) the will was changed.
