what is cascas and how do i find them?

Hi there i am a nannan of a terminaly ill grandaughter .My son and ex wife divorced last year in the mean time my grandaughter was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma .Went into remmision in Oct 2006 week before xmas it came back and now its terminal.My son had custody of his daughter but to be honest its not been a nice divorce and even though my grandaughter is dying my ex daughter in law refuses to let him see his daughter .My son took legal action again to see her last week and he is allowed a visit tonight in fact but only under the supervision of her mum and grandad and at whichever home she is ( mums or nannans )A lady from CASCAS came to visit him yesterday and i want to find this organisation as i want to ask if i can phone my sons mobile while he is with my grandaughter .ITS HELL .

Im sorry to hear about your granddaughter. It cant be easy when a family split and there is argument over custody and visiting rights but when shes so ill it must be horrendous.

Ive never heard of CASCAS. Has your son been given any contact details by the woman he saw? a business card or any paperwork?

Ellieve, my prayers are with you and your family at this very upsetting time.
Can you not speak to your ex daughter-in-law and ask if she would allow you phone contact with your grandaughter? Would she not allow this in this sad and difficult time?
CAFCASS can only be helpful if they have been assigned to your sons case and to be honest - and i'm no expert so please dont take this as the gospel truth, but i'm not sure they will deal with you. You may have to get your son to ask that question on your behalf and then arrange for you to speak to the CAFCASS officer.
