I am going to see a friend on Friday who has a 6 month old baby girl. I would like to get the baby a gift, but am at a loss to know what to get. I'd like to get something useful and not something that will get shoved in a cupboard cos I know at that age kids get so many gifts and most of them never get used. Any ideas gratefully received.
Clothes are always very useful to give, especially as she is at an age where she is growing so fast all the time!
How about a nice little outfit ready for the summer (if we get one!) and a pack of bodysuits.......you can never have too many bodysuits or babygrows when they are that age! lol
The little mite will neither know or care what you get so go for a Premium Bond. You never know!!and if it does come up at some time it will be '''good old Aunt/uncle whats his/her name!!!!!!!!!!!
When my daughter was 6 months it was her Christening and my sister bought her a couple of toys as well as something to keep as it was a few months til Christmas and she was getting bored of her rattles etc. She bought her a Vtech shape sorting rocket which she still absolutely loves (and is 16 months old now). It was good to have something like this at that stage as she was just starting to sit up and needed some toys she could play with whilst propped against cushions. Other ideas are something she could push along which would encourage her to crawl - for example Early Learning Centre do a mirror on wheels which she loved too!
Hi legal girl - I would suggest a Taggie blanket - I got one for my little boy at about 6 months, it seems quite expensive for what it is (c12-16 , about 10 inch square cloth with shiny labels around the edge) but my goodness was it worth it! I now have 3 just in case we lose one or one is in the wash! He will comfort/amuse himself for ages playing with it - particularly first thing in the morning when he wakes up - 5 extra mins in bed is a godsend with a baby! lol! Mrs JG x
