book about life skills for teenagers

Looking for book title - have heard of book (written by a mother whose son was unprepared to leave home for university) about teaching teenagers life skills, eg cooking, cleaning, sewing etc. Any ideas?

Why would you need a book if the teenagers have been taught all these things in their life !! It will be second nature .
