potential problems?

Ive just found out that a colleague at work is pregnant and im a little envious. Ive been with my bf now for 5 months. Not planning to start a family for a while. But previously with his ex, he was told that his sperm was 'sluggish'. Im at the age where i do think about it quite a bit now and would be gutted if i couldn't get pregnant. Any advice gratefully received.

i presume he had a sperm test because he was trying to get his previous girlfried pregnant and failed? Are you in the sort of stage you could talk to him about his aspirations for the future? Does he want kids? If you do, and he dosent well then you have a problem!
if you do both want kids it would be sensible to get a bit more investigation

as an aside, when my sister was pregnant i found myself intensely jealous, and i have no idea where it came from. I dont like children, and didnt want any at the time, so it seemed so irrational!

i shall tell you a true story.

I was married for 5 years to a man who decided he didnt want children so we divorced. I then met a lovely man who would make a wonderful daddy and yet he'd split from his wife because of problems getting pregnant. Theyd tried for 4 years with no luck. he had problems according to the doctors and tests.

I met him online and we became friends and after a long time started going out. I met him on the 16th July 2004 and by mid september 2004 we were expecting a baby!!! That was a shock, i can tell you as had only been careless once! That baby boy was born less than 1 year after we started seeing each other. Hes now 2 and we are expecting our second child in April 2008.

Dont give up hope. It may just be that him and his ex werent compatible.
