does she want to know if he is the dad, or you and your bf want to know?

You could go halves, If she isnt interested in who is the father and you are then you would have to pay.

they are cheaper these days

Is the CSA involved? if so, they can sort out the test and your b/f will only have to pay for it if he turns out to be the father.

If not, she should pay for it. Isn't it she who wants/needs to know for sure? otherwise I guess you could go halves!
If the CSA is involved, they cant presume he is the father and he can dispute it but they will make him have a test. If he is the dad then he has to pay if not then the CSA pay. I assume this is all about maintenance anyway, you might as well go to them then. Makes no difference that he isn;t on the birth vertificate, if he turns out to be the dad he can have his name added to the register as father.

Shes trying to claim money from him and get him to see it! even though he may not be the father?

She has made a claim to CSA even though he hasnt said he isnt going to pay for the child if its his.

He cant afford to pay for DNA so what would happen?

Does it make a difference if he isnt on the birth certificate?

So even though its not him that was being unfaithful and she got into this mess he would still have to pay for DNA?
My brother had paid some private maintenance to his ex g/f for their baby, however she later went onto benefits and the CSA contacted him.

As there had already been talk of him not being the father (she admitted to sleeping with other guys) the CSA arranged the test. He wasn't the father, so didn't have to pay for the test or maintenance.

If he is the father, the CSA may put the cost of the test onto his assessment. I would get this sorted ASAP if I were you, though. The CSA are well known for taking a long time to sort stuff out and arrears will build up.
If the CSA are involved then I would imagine they would order a test
Yes they will, if the 'father' disputes parentage.

Your b/f will have to pay for the test if it reveals him as the father. There will be no getting out of it. If he doesn't dispute parentage the CSA will take it that he is admitting parentage and pursue monies.
From myexperience of research when i was in this situation if it comes back neg mother pays- if positive father pays.
Just to add if it was me in the frame, I'd pay for the test for my own sake. If it comes out a yes, then so be it, but if it came out no, end of story, sleep in peace.

Thankyou for all the advice! My bf would just pay for it him self, but we simply just dont want her to win!! and he has no money as they bought a house together and she left him to pay for it all! she is a money grabbing B***h we just simply dont want her to win, but then i suppose we have to think off the little one who is involved in all this and that if he is the father the ammount of money they will be aking him to pay out straight away! its all so confusing and i dont agree it should be bought on the bloke if it wasnt him that was putting it about!
