fund raising

Morning,
I have to help my son raise a shed load of money so he can go on an expedition to Nepal later this year. Any foolproof ideas. Have formed a committee with other parents and we seem to be organising the usual but I would love to plan something original that is guaranteed to raise loads of cash!
We live in a fairly rural area so don't expext to attract thousands to any event!

Using a photocopier, creating a master copy with a choice of type styles & positions. Banding the headed sheets, boxed including envelopes & continuation sheets. It was very popular & very profitable.
You might try a postal quiz sheet. Compile questions either with a theme or gen knowledge. decide on a prize (suggest 15-20) and advertise it on AB in quizzes and puzzles with details (look at some of the others try new quizzes) charge 1 or 2 and I would expect you to sell 100 at least. Of course you will have to mark them etc but its not too much work and can be great fun. The last few I've compiled raised well over 200 without much effort. Try to include some pretty tough questions tho - they are very smart on this site....
