It isn't how long, how short or how "flowery" they can be that really matters, it's the observance of them which counts above all things. Personally I like the simplicity and sincerity of the time-honoured vows which have been pledged by millions of couples over the years, which says it all:
"to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part."
