why cant i just leave from my gaurdian and be with my dad?

I Leave with my sisters grandmother.She is my legal gaurdian and has tooken care of me for i think 7or 8 years.I now know my father who ive been seeing of and on but talk to every day.My dad was Trying te get custody of me but did not know of my location because i was geeting bounced around so much.My dad lives out of state and i want to live with him.I am 16 and i only have 2 more years intil im actually considerd grown.My current gaurdian my sisters grandmother will not let me leave.I dont want to take a jurastic step just yet but it is not below me to do so.~If anyone has anything to say please leave a comment.~ I DONT HATE THE LADY BECAUSE SHE HAS DONE A GREAT JOB AND I COMMEND HER BUT ITS TIME FOR ME TO FINISH MY LIFE.......

are you in the USA? This is a UK site; somebody may be able to give you the answer but you might have more luck on an American site where people know US laws better.

Contact with an absent father is not the same a s living with him. Have him come visit with you and your guardian a number of times. Get to really know each other and when the time comes perhaps you could go to college near him and have a more day to day living situation. If he has a second family they must be considered in this. Speak with your caseworker and also have your father meet with him/her also. Don't let this ruin your last 2 years of school. Seek help at school from the Guidance Counselor or trusted adult. If he really wants to become a real part of your life he will let you takes the time to make it work for you.
