I hate my sister.
65 Answers
I hate my sister and I feel terrible about admitting it. She has everything going for her, I have not. She has a great husband and a beautiful child, many many friends, male and female, loads of friends on-line and I hate her. The feeling just won't go away. If I were to tell you the truth we have never really got on and as the years go by I hate her even more. Her popularity on-line is the worst. Why can't she just stay off the computer and leave me alone. Everyone I like they like her, it's so unfair. What am I doing wrong? What can I do to get rid of these feelings I have about her?

I love my sisters to bits and lost my eldest one when she passed away a couple of years ago . Does your sister know you think of her like this ?

Have you tried talking to anyone about all of this doctor/councillor? It seems like this is a big problem in your life, probably linked with poor self esteem!
I know what it's like to hate a member of family but he had done some really cr*ppy things, its not healthy to be so consumed by these feelings, I really do suggest you go and talk to a proffesional. You can't carry on living your life like this.

It sounds to me like the problem it with your own self hatred and insecurities which you are projecting onto her.
I think you need to concentrate on why you feel like you do, what problems you have which are causing it rather than on anything she does.
At the end of the day, you can't change her, you can only change you, you feeling, reactions etc...
It might not be a particularly pleasant thing to do, no-one likes realising they have an issue, but look to the possible long term situation, you could be a happier you and you could potentially have a happy relationship with your sister so could be win win.
No pain, no gain as they say.
It seems like a lot of your communication is online where things can be grossly misinterpreted. Why don't you try and spend more time together in person?
Even happy people have their problems, they just maybe have different ways of dealing with things but it's easier to look at things with a grass is always greener view.
If you've caused her problems in the past, could it be she's trying to keep an eye on you?

Jealousy is such a corrosive emotion that you should do all you can to avoid it at all costs. If you don't then you will end up a bitter and twisted old maid.
As someone said earlier, you need to do some growing up - it doesn't matter if you are 14 or 41, you still come across as very immature and self indulgent.
Maybe if you started thinking about other people rather than concentrating all your emotion on yourself you might find a little more contentment.
