I am thinking of buying my 8 year old daughter a laptop or computer, but don't know what kind to buy. It is really just for homework and email, don't need anything too high-spec. Any ideas? Thanks!

Novatech is a good place to look. Or how about this offer?

personally i don't feel that the amount and type of homework that a 8 year old gets justifies a computer of there own. Also you should be monitoring their email and should have a fixed PC somewhere you can keep an eye on
I disagree Richard. My nephew was using the computer from age 4 and started getting homework at age 7. Most of that homework required pc use.

Not every parent can afford a pc for their child. Some of his friends that don't have the internet have to go to the library after school to go onto the schools website to do their online homework. He is still only 10. But things have changed since we were children.
