I turned to the Internet to find my father. I punched in his last name and a bunch of people came up with the same last name. I printed off all the addresses. Then, I typed a letter describing who I was looking for, and why. Then, I made several copies and mailed them to everyone with his last name. I figured someone out there knew him, and I was determined to find him. Later, I received 6 responses telling me where he was. I met him and we got to know each other for 3 years. Then, he passed away. I didn't regret meeting him. It gave me closure. I was raised an only child and found out I had 14 half siblings. I have met only 6 of them so far. We keep in touch often. Good luck!
I went to peoplefinder.com and peoplesearch.com when I got the list of people, I mostly sent to the ones that lived around the area I last heard he was. It was a lot of work, but well worth it. I don't know, maybe it was just luck. Just punch in his last name on these sites as it says, and it will narrow your search. Someone will be related or know him from somewhere along the way. I really hope this helps you.
