tepid bath, play with bubbles to relax him any maybe disguise Calpol in some blackcurrant juice - good luck
bath or shower

its imperative ypu cool the child

not wanting to scare you

but my youngest daughter many eyars ago got a fever and we had her on calpol and in cold bathes etc

turned out shed gotten an ecoli infection

the fever led to convulsions .
her brain swelled up due to the feve rand she spent a week in the sick kids hospital to recover

luckily she did tho her kidneys were scarred

we never found out how she caught it

thankfully she reovered and is now in perfect health

don let this worry you too much
ik merely sayin worst case
+

if the tempertrure wont drop
got ot the hospital asap

its a serious situation if children get too high a temperature

hope this was helpful to you .

leggy
if you can get out, go to tescos they do a mr bump! its by the kids medicene, its a little plastic thing with liquid in it shaped like my bump, you put it in the fridge for a bit and it cools them down, or alternativly i used to use the cool strips, soothe and cool i think they are called, blue and you place it over the forehead, my daughter hated calpol aswell!!
Has your daughter got the calpol with a syringe? Works a treat with my little one who is not keen on medicine and also prone to temperatures. If it doesn't seem to work I find that nurofen works faster. Make sure he keeps drinking and if she at all worried NHS direct are brilliant.
I agree with all of the answers given - excellent advice and would just add if she feels unhappy trust her mother's instinct and get advice from NHS Direct. Never take chances with children - they often make you look silly and bounce into action when you take them to seek medical advice but better safe than sorry as legendis.god says. My grandchildren (2, 3 & 6 yrs) all take medicine far better from a syringe also. Hope all is well xx
