the kids are driving me mad!

When my husband asked me what I would like for Mothers day, i really wanted to say -
"A day away from the kids!"

That is an awful thing to think isn't it?

Now I feel really guilty

No need - we have all had days like that. Mine are all grown up now and I would give anything to have them back as kids for just a few hours. Please dont worry, it will pass, you are normal.

thanks for that. I know i'll be rattling around the house one day, wishing they were here driving me mental. I do try to focus on that thought sometimes.

And sometimes I can't bl00dy wait!
No its not awful , every mother should have some of " own time " dont feel guilty ...

Don't feel guilty, I expect many mothers feel the same and it would be lovely if your other half booked you in for a pampering, relaxation day, so you can take time out and concentrate on yourself.
Join the club crisgal. Sometimes I think that my kids' missions in life are to wind me up till I explode.
Don't feel guilty- make sure you get loads of me time tomorrow!!!AND ENJOY IT!!!! love mumx
Agree with all the above , I think we try as parents to do the best job we can at the time , without any prior training .Sometimes we get it right , and in loads of other times we get it wrong
Don't beat yourself up about things in the past, respect yourself as a person and move on .
After all what is Mother's day except a commercial money making scam.?
i think the same some times all i want is peace .dont feel guilty we all had good and bad days .
You are totally normal! TOTALLY!!!
Don't feel guilty. We ALL feel like that. You are so normal. My other half is working away at the moment, so I'm postponing Mother's day till he gets back. I don't need a pampering day, just someone ELSE to do the breakfast, brush the impossible hair, get the paints out (and put away). retrieve the half empty pot of youghurt from under the sofa etc etc .... Have a lovely day tomorrow!

I felt exactly like that yesterday and was so relieved to put them to bed.

Luckily I have a close friend and sometimes she'll have all the kiddies and other times I will even if I do nothing but sit down and read it's so nice.

I don't believe any mother hasn't felt like this at some time or another
