hubbys new shoes causing blisters on heels is there a good way of softening the heels

Yes. You can buy leather softner @ most shoe menders and I've even seen it in High St Stores. Did you try the old fashion method? Soak Newspaper in water, ring it out and mould it into the heal over night? Depending on the size of shoe, you are bound to get some sort of implement to 'wedge' it, ie a kitchen utinsil of some sort that will ply into the shape

Try vaseline or cut a potato in half and use that. I thought it was a bit odd a first but it works.
