Step Daughters Family Bereavement

Hey Guys, its my step daughters 21st birthday tomorrow. Her Grandad passed away suddenly last night and she is soo distraught (obviously) and she feels that she shouldn't enjoy her day tomorrow.. i want to write something in her card and i have a feelin about what to put but don't want it to sound like she shouldn't be thinkin of him and that he would want her to enjoy her day.......anyone any ideas??? Thanks x

Tell her that her grandad would want her to enjoy the day , that he lived his life to the full and would want her to do the same with hers

It will be hard but I have a take that i applied when I lost my dad very close to my birthday. I didn't want to make my dad's major contribution to my life to be the fact that he died, so i chose to celebrate all the good things he gave me. By focussing on the good things it helped me through and made me realise just how very lucky I was to have him.
She can enjoy her day and celebrate it, albeit maybe in a more sedate manner and she can choose to include her grandad's memory and use the day to thank him for being so influencial in her life and contributing to the young lady she has become. Hope that helps? Condolences for your loss x
