Does anyone know when the winter fuel payments for pensioners will be paid in 2009? Do the payments have to be applied for or are they automatically paid with the pension?

I've trawled the internet and can't find the dates anywhere only loads of guff about the payments continuing.

Thank you.

I agree doc. Why should people who don't need it get it. Considering my quarterly bill last winter was £776, the £50 didn't help much!
my neighbours who live in spain get it

mines apint -- have you got it yet?Got mine today -- 2 weeks after everyone else .They must have known i was rich !!!!!
My OH got his automatically when he turned 60. At the time we were both working in good jobs and felt very guilty because we really didn't need it. Now however, he is 64 and we are no longer working, our fuel costs have gone up by a lot and we are really glad of it although it only pays for one and a third loads of logs; any help is better than none. BTW we received it this week.
