Someone I work with has anounced he's to become a great great grandad. As his mum is still alive this obviously adds another great to the equation. TBH I've never heard of anyone getting to this generation. Has anyone else heard of this happening?
Something seems wrong here.
Taking the minimum age of reproduction to be 15 across ALL the generations of his family, this would mean that his great grandchild is 15, his grandchild is 30, his child is 45 and he is 60-ish (if he is still working) .Highly unlikely. ?!?
Noooooo.............
I'm not saying that !
I'm saying that the chap Booldawg works with seems to have got his 'great-greats' confused.
He may, of course, be employing the old 'but I've always been a *great* grandad pun..
No, not impossible...............just a little unlikely that 4 generations have all had teenage births.
My dad is 68, I'm 46, my son is 23, his son is 4...........my Dad would become a GGGrandfather at 84 assuming and age of 16 for *my* grandson to become a father.
I didnt go into the full details, maybe there are step-kids involved that are of similar age to him? LOL I will ask him next time he pops in. He's mid-late 60s
If he is in his mid-late 60s, assuming he had a child when he was late teens. that child would be 40ish, if that child had a child in their teens and the child, his granchild, is 16 or so, and having a baby, that is his great grandchild, If he were in his 80s i could see it being possible, but probably not whilst he is in his 60s, his mum would be a great great grandma though.
My daughter's great great granny (my great granny) was alive when my daughter was born and I have a photo of them together - but my great granny was 99 at the time, and none of the family had been particularly old when their children were born - early 20's in all cases I think.
It's quite possible......I see pics in the local paper all the time of proud multi-generational families with the latest addition.......and the new mum has usually only just done her GSCEs (if she's lucky)
My nan is 75 now and has 3 great granchildren. The eldest, Louis, is 6 now and so it's entirely feasible that she'll live long enough to see Louis's children. I hope so.
*sigh*
But this chap is 'still working' which puts him in his early to mid-60's.........A Great Grandchild I can see...........not a Great, Great Grandchild.
