I have just read one of these articles where a woman has given birth, seemingly going full term without ever realising she was pregnant. I've never had a baby so can't really comment but I'm just keen to see what the mums on here think. Do you think it is truelly possible to carry a baby for 9 months and have no idea you are pregnant?
It's happened loads of times. Even to women who already have children. I suppose if you still have a period each month pregnancy would be the last thing on your mind. So you'd put aches and pains down to something else.
It happens surprisingly often.........apparently.
Although I'd have wondered what on earth 'else' was wrong with me if I'd been pregnant without realising.....
This happened to my best friend. She thought she was going through the change and was having irregular periods. She put hardly any weight on (was still a size 8). The only noticeable change was her boobs developed. She carried the baby to 6 months but he was still born. Until she went into labour she had absolutely no idea she was pregnant.
My friend has periods / bleeds throughout her pregnancies and NEVER shows a bump. Sadly she suffers from severe morning sickness with hers though so knows shes pregnant before 4 weeks.
Ive heard of 2 women in the last few weeks who have found they are expecting within next 2-3 months as well. They had no idea either
When my mother was pregnant with me she still got some bleeding each month. Consequently she told my god-mother who she knew to be pregnant not to be lugging barrels and such around the pub (they worked together) and that she would do it. A month or two later she went to the quacks and was found to be pregnant with yours truly and further gone than my god-mother! Think it was only about four months or so in to it.
I don't think so. I knew from about 4 weeks when I was pregnant. As for Sonia in EE it may be possible for very young girls not to know that they are for a while as their periods may not be regular yet. But you should definitely know by around 5-6 months.
my friend from where I used to work didn't know she was having her little girl until she went to to the toilet with what she thought was the onset of diar..diorr...sigh, the runs. She knew she'd put weight on, and we all could see she had, but she put it down to curries and beer, which she consumed heavily of during the pregnancy.
I know a woman who was quite heavy and also a bit older. She thought she was going through the menopause, and she knew she'd put on a bit of weight. She discovered she was pregnant at about 7 and a half months.
I felt so sick after about 3 weeks right up until my kids were born,so I find it incredible that women don't realise but it is apparently true. One hell of a shock though-it's bad enough when your'e expecting it!!
