I have just read on another website that Belgium has banned these foam mats as they contain formamides which can cause cancer? Has anyone heard anything else about it? My baby has these and has bloody chewed and sucked on them for ages! Is nothing safe anymore?

no tigwig, pretty much anything is bad for us nowadays. Look at the food industry.

On the plus side, we are now able to remove products from our children as soon as there is a reason found for them being unsafe. Look how many of us were probably sleeping in cots with leaded paint years ago.

Ive not heard anything about this recall, im sure all toy manufacturers in the UK will be checking what materials they are using.
UK has really strict rules...

I am very skeptical about it to be honest. I find it hard to imagine how this can give my baby cancer. I'm sure some of these things are just made up to scare people. As if I havent got enough on my plate forcing medicine down my screaming ill baby 24 hrs a day and pinning him down to shove drops in his eyes, the joy! Oh and having about 2hrs sleep a day then having to work for 10 hours. Why is being a parent so bloody hard?!
maybe an email to the manufacturer or supplied (ie mothercare / mattel) customer services will give you more information
I'd like to say it gets better but I'd be lying..!!
lol, you could at least break it to us gently though, ummmm ;)
it doesn't get better, but it does change :o) - less physical exhaustion but more mental torture!
