Choosing a “big day out” for the kids during a half term break can be a difficult task, especially when there are so many great places to visit in the UK.

1.    London – The capital is a great place to take the kids on a day out. Easily accessible by train, London offers a host of museums, shows and shops that will keep all children and adults of any age thoroughly entertained. 3.    LEGOLAND – LEGOLAND, located in Windsor, is a theme park aimed at a much younger audience than the likes of Alton Towers. The park is themed around LEGO and has a number of rides and attraction for children. 4.    Longleat Safari Park – The famous safari and theme park from BBC’s Animal Park (hosted by Ben Fogel and Kate Humble) is a fantastic place to visit if you and your children have an interest in wildlife. 5.    The Seaside – If you don’t happen to live near the coast (or the half term falls in off season) then this one may not be for you. With a group of other friends and their children a trip to the seaside can be a joy, so remember to bring your bucket and spade and, depending on the weather, some sun cream. Many British seaside towns are packed with funfairs, arcades and all-importantly –fish and chip shops – so there is plenty of fun and food around for all.
