Sandeman's Port

I have a very old bottle of the above. The label, which is yellow banded, is almost unreadable apart from a number going down the side, which looks like156A01106
It has been in the family for a long time, and was bought by my late lamented husband. Can anyone help me find the vintage year, without telling me to draw the cork, where the year hopefully will be printed
