We are moving house and I am going through all my cupboards etc, deciding what we take and what has to go. I have found three bottles of my ( deceased) father's home made wine. 1) Parsnip, dated Feb 1972 2) Apple and Quince, dated Aug 1977 3) Apple (sweet), dated Sept 1985. Are any of them likely to be drinkable after all this time? They have been lying down, so there shouldn't be air in them, I also found a bottle of Vin de Noix, a homemade walnut wine, -to be used as an aperitif, I think, - which was made in 1995, and given to us by French friends in Grenoble in 1996.. the nuts were from their own garden. I don't like to throw things out, but neither do I want to be ill. Advice would be welcomed.. ASAP Many thanks
In terory they should be fine as long at it was made well and are still corked. If the cork it still in once peice and there not floating into the bottle it should be fine.
In it were me i would just try drinking one and see what happens, but that might be the best idea.
