Which coffee do they drink in Italy?
I have recently been on an Italian ship (an MSC one) and just loved the \'Americano\' coffee that I had with hot milk, does anyone know which coffee they use please? I even enjoyed it black, unheard of. I never thought to ask at the time. Do you think I might get the same taste from a cafetiere and ground?
Thanks all.
Thanks all.

Italians make their coffee by forcing superheated water at high pressure through compressed finely ground beans. That requires either an espresso machine or one of those logic defying aluminium pots you can buy in most kitchen shops. http:// www.hou seoffra ser.co. uk/Le+X press+6 +Cup+Es presso+ Maker/1 2554906 2,defau lt,pd.h tml?cm_ mmc=Goo gle+Sho pping-_ -Produc t+Exten sions+A nd+List ings-_- Le+Xpre ss-_-_L e+Xpres s+6+Cup +Espres so+Make r&$ $ja=cgi d:72524 84515|t sid:449 70|cid: 1465042 75|lid: 5837389 0315|nw :g|crid :308374 53835|r nd:1460 2198992 0047201 26|dvc: c|adp:1 o1|mt:| bku:1 For Americano, you add the same amount of boiling water to the espresso. You can get Italian coffee blends at most supermarkets, but putting it in a cafetiere or filter machine won't give you the same drink.
