Sonatogen Wine
It says on the bottle The name `Tonic Wine` does not imply health giving or medicinal properties`. What I want to know is, how can it be therefore a tonic, and moreover, is it a pleasant taste, and, being type2 diabetic, ok to have an occasional tipple? Cheers.

She says she feels better after a glass but whether that psycological or not because of the tonic in the title who knows and she finds the taste pleasing - but that is a matter of personal preference.
I know friends who swear in the restorative properties of Guinness and others in Gold Label !!!

Sanatogen tonic wine is an old product, at one time very popular with ladies of a certain age. It is a fortified wine along the lines of sherry and port. Other well-known brands are Wincarnis and Buckfast (very popular in Glasgow!). They are quite strong, so should be drunk in moderation. I don't think being type 2 diabetic will prevent someone from having the odd glass. I have the same condition and can drink for Engalnd, but I'm not on any medication.
Sounds repulsive to me!?

BTW "Ruby British Wine" is just another cover up name for cheap imported North African red.
