Is it safe enough to boil a frozen chicken fillet for the purposes of defrosting it. I would be planning on cutting it up and frying off afterward.

I use a freezer knife and cut it then cook the bits from frozen just need to start a little more gently
I wouldn't boil it-it will be tough as old boots if you do. Instead-put in in a bowl of water-it will defrost in a few hours. Change the water every 20-30 minutes.

Thanks.
Put it in the fridge over night. or for a few hours. It will then be safe to eat.

Would normally do that, just wondering if I wanted to defrost one post haste.
I would defrost a chicken in the fridge for more than 24 hours. Pasta has given the best advice if you have less than a day.

I frequently cook a chicken fillet from frozen. I place it in a container and pour on boiling water and leave it for ten minutes --- defrosted and ready to cook (usually in a curry in my case, but sometimes just roasted in a halogen oven).
Something similar to Canary. I put my chicken breast fillets into a plastic freezer bag, seal it off and immerse it in a dish of warm water for an hour or so and hey presto!! ready to cook.
