I have recently been given a large jar of french dried mushrooms,unfortunately all the instructions are in french ,can anyone help with method etc.

I soak them for an hour then use as normal mushrooms, conserving the liquid they were soaked in to add to the sauce. Delicious in a creamy sauce with pork fillets.
As above...do not get rid of the liquid. Brilliant for mushroom soup...
There are some very good translation sites on the internet. But what Euphemia said makes sense to me. Lucky you, dried mushrooms are full of flabour. They are also nice in risotto, adding the soaking liquour to the mix. Enjoy. Or should I say enjoi!
As above - soak in warm water til soft, drain and squeeze excess water out. I shred them and add to fresh mushrooms , cook and use in omelette.

I soak in boiled water. Bon appetit!
PS that should read freshly boiled water

Yes TonyV as far as I can make out they are oyster,wood ears,tree ears,porcino and chicken fungus
