Can anyone tell me what's in a Doner Kebab?  Is it as awful as some people make out?

leg of lamb, boned and cut in slices
1 Tbls. black pepper
ground lamb
Lamb fat
1 egg
2-3 Tbls. salt
onions, processed until a liquid-3 cups
1 cup olive oil
1 large tomato

or variations on this.  The unhealthy aspect is obviously the saturated fat in the lamb, and the 3 tablespoons of salt, but also the fact the unscrupulous restaurant owners may use even higher fat content to keep their costs down.  Add to that the constant heating, turn off, reheat, turn off of the rotator plus while the heat is off any passing flies/other insects may land and regurgitate or lay their eggs and you could have a recipe for a bad stomach or worse.

Having said that I ate them for years and never was I made ill by one - doubt it did my arteries much good though :-)

round our way they're full of claws, paws, hooves, bumholes, eyelids and scrotes!!!

Yep basically anything thats left over gets bunged in.

Then again you could say the same for sausages, burgers and chicken nuggets!
