This is for a friend of mine who has just bought a hotel on the beautiful Amalfi coast, she wants to know what kinds of breakfasts to offer. Would you please just list the numbers of the items I have listed that you would like. Remember you would most likely be sitting on a beautiful sun-drenched terrace or balcony over looking a stunning sea view.

1. Tea
2. Fresh Filter coffee
3. Freshly squeezed Juice
4. Cereals and ice cold milk
5. Croissants, pain au chocolat, fresh rolls, bagels or toast and preserves
6. Danish pastries /muffins/local speciality cakes
7. Platter of freshly prepared fruits - eg strawberries, pineapple, mango, oranges, grapes
8. Yoghurt and or honey
9. Fresh fruit smoothie
10. pancakes

Thank you!!

all of it (except 4) but i want meat and cheese as well
Agree with Fluffy. And some baby bottles of champagne would go down a storm.
No to 4,9 and 10......and another yes for meat and cheeses
all except 5,6,10 but would also like eggs.

My friend is going to do up the biggest room as a 'honeymoon' room, and offer a champagne breakfast - perhaps bucks fizz, and scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, but she didn't really want to cook in the mornings
I could do without the pancakes actually.

I remember breakfasts in Cyprus, there would always be a lady there cooking eggs to order. She make any kind of eggs you asked for. That's a nice touch.

A platter of mixed cold meats and cheeses then do you think?
cold meats and cheese's i was thinking off anyway
All sounds fab to me, mercia. I'd be happy with any of it. Will you get an invite? Lucky you!
There should definitely be a continental selection of meats. German guests will probably be hankering for some Bratwurst, etc.

I shall be going next year mrs_chappie - can't wait!!
I know I would not be going to the Amalfi coast looking for pancakes and smoothies. She should keep it simple to start....see how she gets on to begin with.

morning doc, I'll tell her to get a bottle of rum in for you!! xxxxxx

This is what I said to her - keep it simple it'll be her and her two daughters running the hotel (one is 17 the other 22, but the 17 year old will be studying) and there is 9 rooms but they'll be reducing it to 8 knocking through one room to make it a proper en-suite with WC bath and shower rather than a room with just a WC and shower this room with be the 'honeymoon' one with four poster draped in lace all very romantic! Her husband has a boat which he takes people out on

Bacon, sausage, eggs, fried bread, black pudding, tomatoes and mushrooms. Oh, and a pot of good old-fashioned gunfire tea.
Nooooo!..I hate it when people want a fry-up and don't sample the local food...it seems so close-minded. What's the point of travelling?
I'm so pleased for you, mercia.....it'll be fab!
