What spices would you class as 'Turkish'? Thanks.

I should imagine they use a blend of things like cumin, cinnamon, nutmeg, tamarind, ginger, coriander, saffron and suchlike.
I should imagine mint would be a regular flavour too.

Famous through the ages for saffron
Curry powder comes to mind. According to Turkish Cuisine.org, it's a spice blend consisting of cumin, pepper, turmeric, cloves, cardamom, ginger, nutmeg, tamarind and hot red pepper. Wow.
And don't forget cardamom pods, not only ised in cooking meat dishes and rice based dishes, used in puddings too, custard, and the seeds ground and put in coffee - yum yum

I'm making a Turkish meze tomorrow night and one of the dishes states that I need a "blend of Turkish spices". I've ordered a few and I'll just have to add to taste, I guess. I know what it's supposed to taste like, so fingers crossed.
