Wine of the week!
59 Answers
My nomination for Wine of The Week is Quincey Oscar Brilliant, £9.39 in Morrisons. This Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire is fresh yet mighty on the palate with tropical and citrus fruit aromas and a lasting mineral flavour. Enjoy on its own or with fresh fish, pasta and tomato sauces or a selection of cheeses.
I tried the St. Emilion 2010 as recommended by CD and my first impression was... err... unmistakably French! However, the wine improved with each glass which only serves to illustrate that wines of that nature should ALWAYS be decanted. On the whole, a nice enough Red.
Any wine suggestions to share?

I'm afraid it's not about wine snobbery, guys. Wine snobbery doesn't really exist. Are you a snob if you prefer freshly baked bread to supermarket sliced?
Trim, it wasn't the price I was balking at, it was the choices. You cannot be a true wine lover if unless you are willing to try all wines. I'm happy to try wines that are offer and I'm happy to tell everyone what's on offer, but something like Hock... well you might as well drink White Lightening.

Trim, there are people who post on AB with all sorts of budgets. Should I stick to bottles of wine under £5 and not include those seeking something a bit special? I have posted many times about wines that are currently on offer for under a fiver and this time I chose to talk about a wine that was under a tenner. It's about including EVERYONE, not just those on a budget.
If this thread is going to be sabotaged by inverted snobs, I'm not going to carry on posting on it.
Helen - My father would be inclined to agree with you regarding the port!
