preserve some lemons. For African-type dishes etc, and just because I've never done it before.
Can anyone tell me where I can purchase some quite large kilner jars - 6" tall or thereabouts?

I bought a jar of these in Waitrose yesterday - they seem to be very small lemons. Don't know if the small ones preserve better?
Can you freeze lemon slices salla?
Question Author
Think so, but I never have done so I'm no expert.
You can freeze water - hot, warm or cold. It makes lovely ice cubes.
Give it a go on one lemon salla. Open freeze them on a skewer may be? Then pull them off and box up?

How exciting a suggestion. I will. And I may try orange and lime slices also. In fact, I shall pop out to Waitrose and buy some Plymouth gin especially for the experiment....
LOL!!! Who mentioned booze! ;0)

Doesn't have to be outrightly mentioned quassia - the merest hint or suggestion will do!
I alway sslice and freeze my lemons otherwise i do not use them quickly enough or i never have one when i want a g + t! It serves 2 purposes - ice and a slice :-)
Busybee ... How do you freeze yours please? Do you open freeze them on a tray on wax paper or something?
no just slice and put in freezer bag or small plastic container, i would generally want 2 or 3 slices in one glass and thats how they kinda freeze, not in 1 big lump.
shuda said i slice and then half them so they are semi circle shapes if you know what i mean and i have 2 or 3 of those.
You beat me to it busy! Thank you! x Found this link ... http://www.food.com/r...emons-or-limes-410387
