picnic bag. There's another month to hopefully see some sunshine?? Anyway, thinking of foods to take! I'm thinking some seriously strong cheddar & crackers, little cold pies & pickles, sandwiches , may be some little cakes & some of those little bottles of wine! What would you take?

Have you seen those little bottles of wine? Really cute! & they'll be well chilled! Hope the sun shines for your picnic tomorrow welshi!!
Don't forget to take a kitchen roll or some paper napkins!
Question Author
Oh yes of course!
Question Author
I've seen some plastic stemmed wine glasses, really nice!
Quassia, will be happy if it's dry at least, have a 4 and a 5 year old coming along, and they're raring to go!...and thanks boxy!....kitchen roll is a must!......will remember to pack it!..............
Question Author
Oh, kids love a picnic! Brilliant! What are you packing then welshi?
yes Quassia, I went to the races last weekend and we took some of those glasses and our cold boxes full of wine!.........had a great day out!.....just a word of warning the stem and bottom of the glasses fall off easily, meaning that you have to hold the glass at all times, but that's not a great hardship!............lol......
Hummous (and something to scoop it with - celery is my personal fave!) quiche and bbq chicken pieces.
Question Author
Oh I love celery .. great ideas!
Quassia, it will be whatever the fridge can offer mostly, sandwiches, breadsticks and dips of course, fruit, cocktail sausages, cakes, strawberries, cold drinks, and whatever else is jumping out at me when I pack the bag!.........lol......we're going to a lovely Country Park near to us, the boys love it there, they have a farm, and a play park, and deer park, so should be a good day!........
Question Author
Sounds wonderful! The kids will love it wont they! Fingers crossed for the weather then!
yes Quassia finger crossed, but looks like being dry anyway, maybe not so sunny, but that's ok!........the Country Park has little shade, so on a hot day it's very hot up there!.....we'll be happy with dry weather!....
Question Author
Sorry welshi .. I missed your tip there about the wine stems, thanks!
Oh yes, Quassia, the wine glasses are good looking, but the stem and base falls off!.......party cups don't look as attractive, but are a better bet, at least you can put them down if you wish!.........lol.............
Question Author
I've no intention of putting it down welshi lol!!
I managed with them well Quassia!..............but some folk complained about not being able to put the glass down!.........didn't cause me a problem at all!.........lol........
Question Author
Ha ha!!
We went to Chester races Quassia, it was a great day out!.......lost a fortune!....not good!........but a wonderful atmosphere there, have been lots of times, bit of a trek for me, but so worth it!........will go again next year at least for two meetings, I love it!.....
Mini scotch eggs and cold sausages with some pickle or mayonnaise are nice and don't forget to pack a couple of plastic bags for your rubbish. A carton of wet wipes will come in handy for sticky fingers.
Good ideas there BAKERSDOZEN!.........thank you!.....
