The changing ways we eat ..
32 Answers
Just thinking about how we eat today & the things we take for granted. Years ago, we had mum at home ... you got home & your tea was made. You may once in a while buy 'chippy' in as a treat or have a takeaway. Now you can 'order in' as I have just done .. not by phone .. via my lap top & paid for by card! Brilliant!

Course it was nice coming home to your mums cooking notas ! ... Remember when you got your salt & vinegar on the chippy counter .. now they're told to hide it and only put it on if asked for it! Our local chippy was telling us the 'salt police' may be about so he had to hide it under the counter lol! It's a drive to lower salt intake.

I agree how much it's changed for me - we had very plain food (but plentiful as Dad grew huge veg), but he wouldn't eat anything "messed about" so the menu was fairly repetitive. For Dad, shepherds' pie was an innovation. What he would have made of my Mediterranean lunch yesterday, I have no idea - mozarella, beef tomatoes, and olives were very nice on a hot day.
Re the takeaways - we had one three weeks ago, we just can't afford to eat out (or to get someone to bring it in) these days.
