thats what i thought xmas, maybe sainsburys do you think?
Don't think you'll find it anywhere, even Italy, until Christmas. Bit like looking for mince pies now.
I know this is no help, but where I work a lot of Italian sandwich shops sell them.
Regrettably, contrary to Gingejbee's post, it's not like looking for mince pies now ;(

Asda sell mince pies all year long but, to the best of my knowledge, no High Street stores sell panettone other than at Christmas time. So you'll need a bit of patience but I still suggest that you add this recipe to your browser's bookmarks ;-)

Recipe for brioche bread and butter pudding (measurements not exact, depends how large your dish is)
3 eggs
single cream
milk (makes up majority of liquid)
lemon zest
cinnamon
1 tbsp sugar
brioche (i used the brioche loaf from Aldi)
sultanas

Cut slices into halves, layer in dish with sultanas alternating. i cut the last slice into quarters to layer on the top or suppose you could do triangles.
Beat rest of ingredients in a jug and pour over 30 mins before putting in oven so the liquid will absorb into the brioche.

Put in oven Elec 200C, for 35 - 40 mins until liquid set and golden brown top. nb i covered it for 20 mins with foil so that the brioche didnt get too brown too soon.

Serve with cream, ice cream or on its own. You could serve with custard but custard already in it really.
