I'm inundated with figs this year, which is wonderful, but I can't possibly eat them all as they're ready at the same time and the consequences would be dire!!!

Can I possibly freeze them? I'm not a cook, so no jam or chutney suggestions please.

.....or, could you dry them in a very, very low oven (and eat at Christmas)?

Thanks very much gingejbee - wonder how to peel them - they are extremely soft. I think the saving for Christmas is a good idea.
You can make freezer jam with strawberries..no cooking required. MIght work with figs.
