I've just had one of these milk choclate biscuits with a cup of tea at my parents house.

Not fantastic by any stretch of the imagination, but had no idea that they still made them.

Has anyone else rediscovered School Packed Lunch treats that they thought were lost forever?

I'm also thinking Wagon Wheels here people, which I re-successfully ate in one (after many years) about two weeks ago.....

What about 'Viscounts', the mint chocolate biscuit in green foil, always a favourite in my packed lunch box.

I was wondering if its possible to still buy 'Trios'.

used to have the cartoon advert with the girl shouting..... I used to LOVE Trio's, but only the toffee ones.

The animated advert with the 'hippy' type bloke playing the bongo's was an extremely cool advert! If I remember right the girl was called 'Suzy'.

Funniest thing I've heard all week, even though it's only Tuesday.

It was definitely "suzy" and there was some guy with bongos, it coming back to me now, not flooding, more of a drip, in a chinese water torture kind of way.

Hang on......Can you buy "Club" biscuits anymore? For some reason I'm remembering they had a golf ball on the packet? True?

I HATED them.....and Mum always used to by them because they were on cheap most of the time. God yeah...blue ribbands......bain of an 8 year olds life they were. That and spinach.

Anyway, what a great advert!! Don' think the censors would let you get away with shooting at a small girl nowadays, no matter how stoned you sounded....

Never heard of a Taxi either, apart from the TV one with Andy Kaufman.

Wagon Wheels : Packaging. These have definitely shrunk. They are about 5cm across but in the late 80s, they were roughly the size of a small cottage. #Well they're mighty big and mighty round and... I can't remember any more of the song.#

Sorry pjm007 you have been surpassed in my eyes as the greatest "packed lunch" hero of all time.

Natalie_1982 the goddess of biscuits has taken the crown with sheer ease, having pulled out all the stops to bring us Gold Bars (Remember them fondly, so sweet you might as well have been munching sugar cubes.) and the outstanding recollection of the 5-4-3-2-1 who's theme tune is now trying desparately to worm its way back into my head.

I bow down to you Natalie_1982 if I could rate the answer at a billion stars I would......

It's my pleasure Rooser.

I too was one of the Blue Ribband kids.  In fact, we went through another phase of Tesco Value Chocolate covered Digestives which tasted (according to mum) just like Rocky Robins.  Yeh right......

There was also another choccie bar called a Caramel or something?  They were in a red white and gold wrapper and had caramel and wafer middle.  I don't think I liked them.

And then there are your ones that are still around now including Penguins and two finger Kit-Kats.

Caramels......they....were......RANK.

They used to get bought as some sort of healthy alternative as they didn't have chocolate on them, but they were rubbish, I always new when mum had the hump with me because I'd get a caramel, plain crisps and only 1 carton of Um-Bungo, plus the most bruised apple in the bowl.

As for alternatives, well there are none. McVities digestives every time and if I'm feeling a bit naughty then I'll head for the plain chocolate hobnobs......sad but true.

I remember "bingoes" they were around in the late 70's and I think they were chewy.

Peanut butter sandwiches, beef monster munch, an empty coke bottle with orange squash in it and a blue ribband in an empty ice cream tub ;-)

Oooh, and the posh/ spoilt kids at school had those bite size mars in the lunchboxes instead of a penguin (the ones that had carton characters on them and a matching flask).

....the pyton picked the passion fruit, the marmoset the mandarin, the parrot painted packets that the whole caboodle landed in, so when it comes to sun and fun and goodness in the jungle,they all prefer the sunny, funny one they call "um bongo"!
