Parents are coming round at six, for dinner. Had the stuff in to make a beef casserole, put it in the oven at about 4.30. Recipe says I need to cook it for 2 and a half hours... which I don't have.
If I turn the temperature up on the oven, will that work in cooking it quicker?
That sounds really stupid, but what I mean is, will it cook quicker... or just burn.
Problem is, casserole beef needs slow cooking to tenderise it. It will be cooked in the time you have, you don't need to raise the temperature, it just might be a bit tough.
Is that all I need? I definitely have those. Hmm...
They're supposed to be coming at six B00, think they want to spend a bit of time with the kids before they go to bed.
Looks like soup is now going on the menu though!
as a suggestion though, invest in a slow cooker. We had this cooked in a slow cooker yesterday and it was luvverly. Apart from putting the stuff in and dishing up, it was no bother and ready when we wanted it.
It went really well thanks red. We all had a lovely night.
I think I did something wrong with the soup, as it was a bit watery. We ate the casserole at about 8, and it was fine. Really nice actually.
