Trying to return to a pub in Devon but can't remember the name

Went to a great pub with good food and real ale. You think you'll remember it for when you next holiday but no. The only major clue I can give is that it is in a tiny village (just houses no shops) and we were told that Tim Martin the owner of J D Weatherspoons used to live there. It is possibly not far from Dartmoor.

He apparently lives in Exeter, not really a small village but only about 25 miles from Dartmoor, it could be that he lives in a small village very close to Exeter.

Sorry for delay in reply and vagueness of question :o) After a fair bit of research, think it's the Manor Inn at Lower Ashton. Pics on the website look familiar. Worth going to if you are in that area. Thanks for taking time to help me out.
