Anyone else think that there should be some whole flipping cherries in a 'cherry scone' to warrant the name, rather than some titchy little bits which should be called 'hint of cherry scones'?

They were only cheapos from Asda, but even the M & S ones are very light on the cherries (I love pretend cherries).
I make cherry scones sher, never add whole cherries, but always add lots of them cut into two!.......where did you buy them!.....
and in my life I have many disappointments . . .
Oh dear - I read it as cherry stones. Don't want any of those in our scones do we?

I defy anyone to find a whole flippin cherry in anything to be honest.
they're easy to make sher, why not have a try?.............much tastier than the ones you buy!.........

Hi Welsh, as above ^. I buy them just for me (as a treat), if I made thei would have to share (and I would have to make loads).

Actually, feel bad now, will have to get the stuff in to make them for everyone.
Remember my mum taking our local bakers to task over the rather skimpy amount of raisins in their raisin loaf. Did the baker stand at the door and throw them in - cause his aim was a bit off.
Mrs MM (who is a Yorkshire girl) bought parkin from Asda. Renamed it oat cake, my words not hers. She called it Sh??
they are so easy and quick sher, you can make a big batch really quickly!.......I make a large batch and give them to the family!.........have a go!.........

Hi Welsh, I can cook just don't do too much baking as my day is on quite a strict 'timetable'. Will have to go mad and let thing 1 and thing 2 help (and get in extra cherries as I can see these being a fav.)
I haven't made scones since school. I was just reading a recipe so I might give it a bash tomorrow.

I'm also considering Welsh Cakes but the rings on my cooker are very crap (was going to say tempremetal but that's not quite harsh enough).
Have you thought about buying a new cooker Sher?? Isn't your grill broke as well? :-)
Anyone got a good recipe for cherry scones?
I've got a griddle thing sher, you put it on top of your cooker ring, heat it and then cook your welsh cakes, it wasn't expensive and works really well, also good for cooking lots of other things too............
I just got one from BBC...

Not my cooker - the landlord has just had to fork out for a new boiler so don't want to add to his woes. The grill has been dead for about a year and it's surprising how well you can manage without it. The rings are halogen or something and they are either fiercely hot or just a bit warm. Would also need one of those special pans for Welsh cakes (the proper word completely evades me).
I'll be by to pick up my batch Ummmm : ) x
Those Morrison's cherry scones are ruddy lovely : )
