Some would get into the digestive juices in the mouth, surely?
It'll dissolve / melt so you could only spit out some of it.
It depends on what sort of insulin regime they are on. My stepson has type 1 diabetes and he eats normal chocolate regularly, he just tailors his insulin doses to counter the effects.
Eagh cazzz, where did you find that?
Ooops, sorry, I seem to have mis-read the question.
just googled it ;)

I agree with daffy, I know diabetics who eat normal chocolate, but they have to restrict what they have
I don`t know about sugar and chocolate but some drugs such as Buccastem are administered via the gums from which they are absorbed into the bloodstream so I would think the answer would be Yes.
My daughter has been a diabetic since she was 2, dietary rules have changes so much in the years since her diagnosis, that basically she eats more or less what she likes, chocolate included. New types of insulin make it so much simpler for a diabetic these days. The dieticians tend to recommend a good healthy diet more or less the same as would be recommended for non diabetics. However, my daughter is an insulin dependent diabetic and she adjusts her insulin doses according to her sugar levels and what she is going to eat. I suppose there are different suggestions for Type II diabetics. The best thing to do would be to get advice from the diabetic clinic attended by the diabetic

i ask because someone on atkins forum said she does it to get the taste of it, but i would think you couldn't help but take some of it in.

so i wondered if diabetics could do that too.

i dont think id be able to not swallow some
I think the person on the atkins forum is deluding herself joko.
As said, if on insulin it does enable you to eat lots more things including chocolate as you adjust the dose to suit what you are eating or going to eat.
Surely your taste buds are towards the back of the tongue and some would be sure to go down no matter how hard you tried not to swallow it. As for diabetics eating chocolate they can eat what they like as long as they keep it to a minimum and adjust it to their insulin needs. So not necessary to chew and spit out.
