fortnight agowe bought an electric kettle and ever since, althou gh it has been rinsed out time and again, (and also boiled with bi carbonate of soda, and even washing up liquid) our tea still tasted vile. We took the kettle back to the retailer (yesterday) who refunded our money without question and we bought another make. We have boiled it and rinsed it three times as per the instructions and today the tea in the new kettle tastes as bad as the old (It tastes like you would imagine old engine oil would taste).
2 different makes, that sounds like it may not be the kettle.
Have you checked the water ? Do you filter it ?
Do you have a bad batch of tea ? Can you detect problems with coffee for instance ?
Thanks everyone. It is the kettle,as the old one still makes good tea (This new one is a gift and it is made of metal). Can Mccfluff tell me how to use the white vinegar please?
Thanks everyone - Mccluff, have tried the white vinegar and we now have a decent cup of tea. Did you notice that someone gave the same tip of using white vinegar for limescale in the Sunday Mirror top tips for the week which I 'think' get a cash prize. Was that you?
