I just rub garlic, lemon and thyme on chicken for roasting.
I sprinkle citric acid and chilli flakes over, careful with the citric acid though only a bit is needed ...if you want chips on the side I made some the other day coated in turmeric which were quite nice so i guess you could do the same with paprika.... disclaimer... if you do and it turns out crap no kicking me arse!
make a marinade of garlic, paprike and oil then grill, or a mix of soy and oyster sauce
Or just go KFC.

Go arrrrrn, you know you wanna!
lol
Mmmm KFC, I could devour a bargain bucket right now!

Btw....i dont like kfc!!! Seriously i dont i know im a wierdo!!

I could live on mcds...but not kfc! Lol!!

I need this big juicy chicken! X
''Or just go KFC.''

tinkerbell craves 'big and juicy'... not 'wizened and as dry as a dead dingo's donger'...
I tend to boil mine now. However, into the pan I put lots of nice spicy things like star anise, cardomon, cloves and cinnamon. Meat is lovely and succulent and falls apart.

If you do roast it, lop its legs off and cook them separately and stuff the cavity with a lemon and onion. Then mix butter with parsley and garlic and rub all over chicken and under its skin.

Also, buy the best bird you can afford. Those horrid anaemic water filled things that the supermarkets pass off as chicken are pointless.
i don;t like kfc either
I went to my local supermarket which usually over-orders christmas time
and then you can get all your christmas stuff at greatly reduced prices.
Not a turkey or even a pathetic mince pie to be seen. I did have christmas
dinner round my daughter's but I could still eat it all again! I feel a tummy-
rumbling coming on with all this talk of food. Will have to make do with a
ham sandwich and a mug of tea! The fridge is almost bare.
<<<Loves KFC :-(
oh, "craving", I thought you said carving. I was about to get on a bus and join you.
my husband nearly always boils chicken barmaid, at first i was like eurrghhh boiled chicken but its blooming lovely
Mashed garlic, ground cumin, honey and lemon juice smothered over slashed chicken with a glug of white wine in the bottom of the pan is nice. When cooked remove chicken and add a good dollop of creme fraiche to make a sauce.

Harissa paste mixed with a spoon of natural yogurt is nice too as a marinade.

Roasting chicken pieces with quartered lemons, garlic cloves and chillies is scrummy.

I love chicken and could happily eat it every day.
I'm looking at my 3 in the garden now thinking "Hmmmm, you might make a good roast". (I couldn't do it, honest).
they are gonna be soooo upset if they read that!!! lol
I did a gorgeous dish the other day, I partly cooked some chicken pieces in a frying pan and then add chopped peppers, onion, tomato puree, some paprika and a little water to moisten it a little. When chicken was cooked through, I added a few slices of chorizo and heated through. I served this with new potatoes that had been baked in their skins with a drizzling of olive oil and italian herbs. Got thumbs up from everyone.
