ovens!

our oven seems to have had it - wouldnt work for ages then the glass on the inside of the door smashed! however, we can still use the grill. i am really into baking and was wondering if anyone knows if you can use the grill for such things as shortbread, cakes etc? it sounds strange but as it looks like we're going to have to wait ages for a new oven, i might as well make full use of the grill as we still have that!

i cant help you regarding the grill but you can make welsh cakes and scotch pancakes on the top of your stove in a heavy frying pan or griddle..and you could make a steamed sponge pudding on top of the stove or even in the microwave if you have one..
