Do you complain if food is brought to you cold in a pub etc ?

It just that some people will eat the food and only complain afterwards.

As for myself, I go up to the bar and ask for a refund, then leave.

I would not eat anywhere that expects me to pay before I've eaten, and would complain if food was cold when it arrived at the table, and I would not accepted reheated food, I pay enough for it I want it right first time or not at all.

I would complain, but give the eatery chance to rectify the situation before anything else.
I would send it back and ask for a refund, then go elsewhere for a better meal

Well I used to just except a cold or cooler meal. But as I have got older I will complain and get them to repalce it. The same as when you order steak a certain way. I like min very well done, if it isnt I send it back. Sometimes my husband moans at me for doing it. But I think if I m paying for it I want enjoy it.

With something as dramatic as that then I'd complain immediately. With minor issues I may ignore them and just no go again since I don't think the hassle and stress of the confrontation is worth it. The supplier ought to be on top of getting their product out in correct condition.

I do complain at the time but sometimes when there is a group it is miserable being the one waiting for your food to be corrected while everyone else tucks in.

I ate at a Michelin starred restaurant that had to take my meal away to correct they looked at me agog when I asked them to take my partners meal away too. You don't spend that kind of money and dine in sequence with your partner!
To be fair you really need to complain immediately to give them the chance to put it right. Would never eat the meal then ask for a refund. Like OG I'd think twice about visiting again.
No, I complain. I do it very politely, but firmly. I normally make my point. The last time I had to do so was in a "gastro pub" we often go to. The food was terrible, the service was awful (not the waiter's fault, he was trying to service the whole pub on his own). Manager was very polite, very understanding, rectified the problem and gave us free desserts and drinks. Consequently, we will go back. Just not yet!
I would bring it to the attention of the waiter and send it back - but I'd do it in a pleasant way. I would expect it to be put right, and I'd pay the bill. It wouldn't occur to me to ask for a discount or a refund.
I'd just ask them to sort it out and as long as the replacement was ok then I'd pay what was on the bill. I wouldn't ask for compo/discount.

i wouldnt ask for a discount either. though when ive complained about takeout taking too long ive always had some free goodies delivered which is nice :)
I refuse to eat out at a place that asks for the money when the food is ordered. I always believed that it is wrong if not illegal to demand money for services until the service has been rendered. Or have they quietly repealed that law? If your food is not up up the standard that you could reasonably expect then you only have to pay what you think the food is worth. I was in the catering sector for many years, still am, part-time, and I know how easy it is to put good, hot food in front of a customer. All you need to do is to care about what you are doing. Having said that though, there are unfortunately what we call 'professional complainers' who get away with what is tantamount to a fraud. Grrr. BP rising now must take a pill.

I worked behind the bar in a pub and was a waitress at lunchtimes (same pub), we had this scenario happen a few times and we would always replace the meal if the customer required and give a full refund if they had already paid.
i'll complain if it isn't hot or what i ordered. if it isn't right the next time i'll not pay or ask for a refund.
If I'm paying in advance for a Kebab then I expect to see half a rat in it somewhere.

However at a pub-lunch or restaurant then I've always being lucky, I've never had to ask for any food warming up or unhappy with any service provided. I do though when ordering steak make it clear that when I say 'well done' I mean Well done... no blood thank you.

Everybody can make a mistake and to me it is how they handle their stuff-up that really counts......
