My daughter has just ordered a breadmaker.Any suggestions on what brand of strong flour she should buy,please?

You'll probably find your own favourite brand of strong white flour. I've not made bread for a while, but my woman uses Carrs brand. you may wish to try it, see what you think. And there are plenty of weirder options such as spelt if you wish to experiment.

Thank you,I'll make a note of that brand-never seen it in our local supermarkets.As you say she'll just have to experiment till she finds a brand that she prefers.Thanks again

I just buy the cheapest which is usally my supermarket`s own brand (Sainsbury) unless there is a special offer on a branded one.
redhelen, that was always the problem I found with breadmaker bread, it always tasted of yeast, we chucked the breadmaker out!

I think the results you get depend more on technique than brand of flour, certainly as a "beginner".

Thank you all for your replies.She'll probably go for the Supermarket's own brand! I'm thinking of buying one too with money I got at Christmas but i'll wait and see how the bread tastes-sure it'll be much better than the bread I'm using now.
